San Fernando City, La Union – On the morning of October 4, 2025, the spirit of compassion and community service shone brightly as Mr. Alvin Ray Mari Dumuk, President of the Rotary Club of San Fernando La Union, together with the dedicated personnel of the City of San Fernando Police Station, embarked on a meaningful outreach mission, the donation of a wheelchair to a person with disability (PWD) in Barangay Santiago Sur.
Braving rough, steep, and challenging terrain, the team trekked to the modest home of Nanay Adelaida N. Caccam, a stroke survivor whose mobility has long been limited. Despite the humble surroundings, the air was filled with warmth and gratitude as Nanay Adelaida and her family welcomed the group with smiles and joy.
Upon receiving her new wheelchair, Nanay Adelaida expressed deep appreciation, saying that the gift would bring back a sense of independence and ease to her daily life.
The Rotary Club and City Police personnel shared heartfelt words of encouragement with the recipient, reaffirming their shared commitment to serving the most vulnerable sectors of the community. This simple yet meaningful act of kindness stood as a powerful reminder that compassion and public service can reach even the most distant corners, bringing not only much-needed assistance but also renewed hope and dignity to those in need.
